Selecting Halloween Stories for Kids

  • The Night Before Halloween – I’m sure you heard of some of the books in the series of “The night before”. This book is from the same series and tells a fun halloween story to kids.

Disney Halloween Cartoons

Disney Halloween Animation Shows
Disney is known for producing family friendly cartoons for quite some time. Before the release of their own television channel they used to produce cartoons compilations and shows on themes like Halloween and Christmas holidays for other TV channels. Now that they’ve their own channel, they often show vintage cartoons on Halloween and other holiday themes. Some of their old shows are very popular as they’re rarely aired on TV these days and are even hard to get in VHS or DVD format. In this post, I’m going to list some of the best Halloween cartoons from Disney. Therefore, we have very limited vintage Christmas cartoons these days. Modern animation studios rarely create cartoons that create holiday feel while watching them. Christmas Story Books for Kids

Kids love Christmas for obvious reasons – gifts and lots of stories,cartoons and of-course holidays. You can give them story books on Christmas to let them know about history and tradition of Christmas. There are plenty of Christmas books which are not based on history but have good stories of Santa Claus and other holiday themes. These Christmas story books can be a good entertainment during Christmas holidays.

This little book from Dr Seuss always comes first in my mind when it comes to Christmas books list. I have seen very few story tellers who are good at illustration and are this effective like Dr Seuss. There is also animated movie which is based on this book. Though kids will prefer cartoons over story books for this title still in my opinion the best illustration that you’ll find in story books and is still a good read if your kids like reading books. This books is classic, just grab your copy.
This story book has excellent illustration that will catch attention of kids. Kids will enjoy the story in this book which tells them about Christmas and advent calendar. This one is focused on tradition and the history of Christmas. It comes in set of stories in 1 to 23 books on advent calendar and history of Christmas. If your kids wants to read about Christmas history, tradition then this is a good book.
This story books has twenty four stories packed in it. There is a lot of reading that kids can do with this story book. You’ll find excellent vintage feel illustration in this story book. If you’re looking for book on tradition and history then this is one good book to get hands on, though stories are not directly related to advent but keep the essence of advent.
This story book is suitable for all ages and has excellent story and illustration.  Adults will enjoy reading this book for their kids. It is one more book that you should get if you want to have book on topic of Christmas history and tradition. Folk art style illustration from Tomie dePaola makes you browse this book again just for illustration.
This book focuses mainly on religious aspect of Christmas. It expects adults to keep the faith alive in kids by asking them to follow tradition. It also shows ways in which kids can enjoy holidays without losing faith on tradition and Jesus. If you’re religious and want your kids to have focus on traditions, Jesus then this is the book you should get for your kids. Good book for religious families.
I have managed to get a sneak preview of this title.This is picture story book on Christmas holidays. These stories on Christmas will surely entertain kids with typical holiday illustration that gives vintages feel to this book. There are some nice illustrations from artists like – walt (pogo), Kelly, John (Little Lulu) Stanley, and Dan Noonan.

Reading a scary illustration or Halloween story book can be a fun activity for kids. Most of the books in this compilation hub are moderate on scary part and also comes up with excellent humorous illustrations as well. If your kids are creative then these Halloween books will surely entertain their imagination cells. There are some popular characters in these books illustrated by Megan Lloyd, Yuvi morales and similar other famous illustrators. After reading all these books i think there should be no age bar for reading these great books. So i can say that these books are worth a read by kids and adults.

This is hardbound book with good story and illustrations. It has not only the eye-catching illustration but also good story plot on Halloween theme. Only thing that it lacks is that it’s not a flip-the-page book as it claims to be.
Boo Bunny!
Good plot, nice illustration and excitement -sums up this books. This story revolves around two bunnies and their Halloween night. It is illustrated in simple way that it will even attracts the older crowd. It keeps the Halloween spirit without being scary at all.
Trick-Or-Treat, Smell my Feet!
This is a fun story with excellent illustration. Story is about two witches who wants to ruin the fun of Halloween. It’s not as scary as it looks from the plot of it. Illustration and the end of the story makes it so fun that kids will surely enjoy it.
The Halloween Kid
What i like about this book is it’s old and vintage style with story and illustration. Story is simple and so clear that there is nothing that will make you stressed about the story. With humorous illustrations and pace of the story makes the reading a fun.
Los Gatos Black on Halloween
If you are looking for any creepy story then this is the book for you. It has excellent dark illustration from Yuyi Morales. I think it is more suitable for elder crowd than kids because of it’s scary plot and illustration.
Ollie’s Halloween (Gossie and Friends)
This book is one of those from the flap book series. Story is excellent and progressive which reflects in the art. It is suitable to readers of all ages. I am sure that your kids will fall in love with Gossie and Gertie after reading this book.
The Night Before Halloween
A story that keeps the essence of Halloween and teaches kids about the excitement of the day of hollows. It is very well written book with funny monster illustration. It is suitable for kids of age 4 and higher. Those who are obsessed with Halloween stories will surely enjoy this fun book.
Halloween Night
I like this book for it’s illustration. It has some of the excellent illustrations that you can rarely find in other Halloween books. This is one perfect picture book that kids can read even after Halloween.

This book has a scary plot for Halloween lovers that in facts teaches not to get scared with the things. Colorful illustration of this book tempts me to read this every Halloween season. For example, monsters in this story book are illustrated beautifully.
